walked into a backed coffee shop half an hour ago. Was denied the one open seat by a woman waiting for her friend. I rolled my eyes, but fine. I got a seat a few minutes later. Half hour later, place has cleared out, except for me, and her. Her friend still has not showed up.
In fairness, I should probably point out that I have been sitting at this coffee shop for two hours now, so I'm a whole different kind of jerk customer.
Take her a pastry and say, "I'm sorry your friend stood you up."
i'm not sure i could pull that off without smirking. And it would need to be done without a hint of smirk.
