I think most orgs just get a Slack account and basically tell people to have at it and never have discussions about how each person likes to communicate.
that's not been my experience, but i'm sure it's been yours. we talk about how we use slack quite a lot.
I bet just having discussions as teams help ease people into Slack who haven’t experienced it before. At the two places I’ve worked at with Slack, it was kind of choose your own adventure.
