And this is purely anecdotal, but I'd guess that the average American has close to zero awareness of the strike. You have to dig to hear about it.
That wasn't the point of the tweets, though, which were simply to respond to the people asking why no one was covering the strike, which was wrong. Now if you wanna ask why people don't make it a habit of making themselves informed, that's an entirely different and larger issue.

Sure, but I'm referring to the connection between that & how much a story is pushed by media orgs. Look - unlike you I have no dog in this fight. I often think the "why is no one covering this story!??" protests are overblown, in this case not so much. YMMV.

I guess you could be more precise in how you define “covering.” You arguably “covered” Trump’s finances pre-election, but was that the same “coverage” HER EMAILS got? These are obviously judgments about what’s ‘important’, balanced with what readers want.
