We both know there's a difference between writing a story and pushing a story. They can write 1000 stories and bury them. Front page all week had nothing, though honestly my beef is more with MSNBC. NYTimes just did their usual less-than-mediocre job. MSNBC was stone cold silent.
We don't, as an industry, write about a story at length and repeatedly over the course of a week, with the aim that no one read it.

I admire your strength here even in the face of people who just basically believe conspiracy theories about media. It’s especially hard when people conflate TV & print, news & opinion.

Luckily, the really really out there ones tend to telegraph their intentions not to believe anything you say, so you can safely ignore them.

I guess I don't see multiple, lengthy pieces starting on day 2 of the strike and continuing nearly daily since as declining to "hype" a story.

You also don't, as a corporate entity, write about much that threatens the fortunes of the ownership. Will people read about a teachers strike? Probably. Will it help ownership make more money if you just do Trump Russia 24/7? Sure thing!
