I'm watching an Unsolved Mysteries episode about Ogopogo the Loch Ness knockoff and it's better sourced than the pie conspiracy tweets

Because the Time mag tweet happened while the Pie tweet was being debunked, twitter with its nonexistent attention span has moved on. And the pie thing will falsely just fall into memory despite being not true.

You can't just embrace facts when they support your side. That's not how any of this works.

By now a lot of the original source tweets have been deleted, after sowing a small amount of low-grade chaos. Not seeing anyone involved actually admitting 'oh shit yeah I got this wrong, and I'm sorry.'

And then you have the freaking daily news up there 'hey we're just saying people are asking questions.' It's a perfect formula for consequence-free viral crap. The stakes seem low but they are not.

Anyway who knows if she made the pie! But there's absolutely zero evidence on twitter that she didn't.
