In this one case, yes. They're all just people. It's all just arbitrary. Storms have no names of their own. It's just labels we slap on 'em.
if you can't see the difference I'm not sure what else I can say. In this case, WC is directly contradicting the advice of the government.

I'm not really advocating using WC's names. I think they're stupid. But I've always thought hurricane names were also stupid.

they behave differently and affect people differently, and naming hurricanes has been shown to help. so yeah, i trust scientists here.
