Honestly, the suckiness of cab drivers is why I still use Uber. I want to root for them, but they suck. Usually it's me giving directions
I've had a lot of bad cab drivers but never one so bad it'd make me consider Uber.

I've had one enjoyable cab experience in my life. Uber drivers have GPS, often water and phone chargers, don't take intentional wrong turns
