I think it's important to think about what the words we use convey.
Internet style reminder: 'commits suicide' is a holdover from when mental illness was criminalized. It was literally a crime. Don't use it.

Hard disagree. People rarely 'commit' things that aren't crimes. It's a subtle reminder, but it remains one.
