My first year here, I caught a 5:15 am train at Times Square. If I was late and had to wait, that meant waiting with the trash train.

By the time summer rolled around, I would walk to Union Square from 49th at 5am, rather than wait at Times Square with the trash train.

And I still don't think it smelled as bad as this platform right now.

A bag has just split and is leaking warm garbage soup toward a woman on the platform.
