I had to tell my bartenders at one point to stop telling customers there is a limit. Didn't hear the end of it for weeks.
I'm also a fan of "you know asking for my ID in addition to my card violates your customer agreement with the card company"

the ID thing is just in case the card you are using is stolen, but then they shouldn't keep it!
