It was all the old DC Mall trees losing their loosest branches, with the most horror-movie-esque creaking sounds, for hours.
Before this, I was a big fan of the movie version of the Road. Afterward, I couldn't watch it, because it had the same sound. Trees, dying.

So anyway, I'm pretty sure I know what the apocalypse is going to sound like in DC.

Also if you're cozy and warm and there's a snowstorm, you should *probably* bundle up and take pictures. You won't regret it.
