Cooking question: what do you do with leftover rice?

Ok, so there have been 10 votes, which is enough to go on. Last week, a thread I'm in devolved into a debate over leftover rice...
And the group had two sides: people who just eat it (me), and people raised to believe leftover rice is a massive incubator of disease (??!)

Most of the latter group were basically 'rice will kill you within five minutes of you cooking it, eat it fast and then destroy it!'

@mccanner I’ve definitely heard this in China. Chinese people will use leftover rice for a soup the next morning, but not after that. - 3 more replies
