Whenever I go visit my parents now, beer in grocery stores still freaks me out.

Ha, same. Although, I have lived in Pennsylvania for most of the past 15 years and I still don't totally understand why/how state stores work. I grew up in Massachusetts where at least all the beer and wine was in one store even if you couldn't buy on Sundays

For years they were only allowed to sell wine that was on a pre-approved list, and the list was compiled by someone who I don’t think even liked wine or possibly had ever had it.
