I grew up in PA at a time when you *could not buy a six-pack of beer* and I went to college in Ohio, where “party stores” sold watered down liquor at full price. To see NY just snap its fingers and say “yes, of course you can have a walk-up Old Fashioned” was incredible.

We were a little slower on to-go cocktails, but yes, Ohio seems more sensible on that front. It was amusing to get a drink and bring it home.
