I'm always fascinated with the hoops people jump through to dip their toes in vegetarianism, with talk of weaning or "trying to avoid," etc. You know how I became a vegetarian? I stopped eating meat. Just one day I ate meat, and then next day I didn't. That's the process.
one of our local bars opened up after two months, and i decided the thing i absolutely HAD TO HAVE was buffalo popcorn chicken. It was ... not great! So I guess I keep having bad experiences with meat, and eventually I'll remember that before I place an order, not after.

Amusingly enough I was one of those dorks who ate red meat with every meal. I'll still, when asked, say my favorite food is burgers. But while I miss the convenience of meat when traveling, and I miss the process of eating a French Dip sandwich, the rest was surprisingly easy.
