Yes, I remember the Yahoo thing well - Yahoo came to a lot forks in the road the last 20yrs - seems like they chose wrong 95% of the time. So tech workers find the Bat Area tough - wow. The housing shortage is the tip of the iceberg? That is sad b/c the area is so wonderful.

Ugh yes...hopefully they’re happily employed (remotely) somewhere. The same thing happened at IBM, btw—the longtime champion of distributed teams. Someone I know had to relo to another region just to keep their prev remote job.
