      Did you hear this morning’s report on NPR? US Social Security Admin is reporting their staff is more productive at home, piece ends w/statement saying folks who used to clock out at 5p, they look up around 7p and realize, hey I’m still working. How is this good for America?

      I saw that! and that is definitely how my first month went. i just sat on my couch and worked all the time. But now it's just so essential for my own sanity to, if i can't focus on anything else, at least focus on going for a walk at 5:30 and not getting back online after.

      More than a few of my days are sit down to work after having woken 30 mins. prior, start coffee brewing, break for lunch, mid-afternoon take a walk or bike ride, work a bit, then stop at end of day. This is fine by me in perpetuity. But...

      I started my current job during lockdown, have never occupied my office or worked with my colleagues in person. And I was so looking forward to that! So, I’m more than a little conflicted.

      yeah, i can do my job well right now because I know the ins and outs and the people. I couldn't imagine not having any of the rote habits to fall back on!

          It's been a ride, but I'm a server engineer so vast majority of the work is project based working with colleagues in Teams most of the time.
