Everyone is scared. Everyone is on edge. Screaming at runner who is nowhere near another person on a sidewalk and feeling smug about it helps no one.

everyone is scared, the sidewalks are small, and screaming at runners, either in real life or on your social media feeds, as if they alone are the source of risk, doesn't really accomplish anything.

What I like about this piece is it makes clear that yes, there are a lot of new runners out right now, who may not be familiar with etiquette. (there are also a lot of new pedestrians.) A couple of weeks ago I tweeted that joggers are the pandemic’s cyclists. They’re getting put on blast largely because our cities are built around driving and not people. It’s not the joggers’ faults.
