I realize a bunch of assholes ruined it for everyone by making dinner reservations and no-showing like 10 years ago but I don’t even talk to my mom as often as this reservation app this week.

I have a dinner reservation tonight. Got a reminder prompt from Resy 24 hours ago. THEN a text from the host an hour ago asking me to confirm. THEN ALSO a text just now reminding me of my reservation in 30 minutes. Who wants this?!

I don't know that this is why, but it reminds me that most restaurants in Japan won't let Americans make reservations except through a concierge because they so frequently ditch reservations and and Japan can't stand it
