“The decade” is ambiguous. You need to specify a start date. Numbering, as we often do with centuries and millenia, locks down a start date. “The decade” does not.

this is not a time gap. on the scale of time, there's no zero. january is month 1 of a year. the previous december is one month earlier, so it's like month -1 for that year. there's no month zero. otherwise, it'd be like a twilight zone episode that we all have 1 hr extra to livepic.twitter.com/KypVQEzYSP
