what a great idea for a project but i have to take issue with the choice for georgia, my home state. "midnight" by berendt is based on a real case but is not scrupulously true, and in fact is larded with fiction.

the book was disqualified from consideration for a nonfiction pulitzer after questions were raised, and berendt has admitted to taking liberties. is it a fun read? sure. true crime? not.
