Anyway, what I think probably happens is that these stories float around places like Yahoo or MSN or as a low-key human interest thing, and hospital PR people are very good at localizing to their nearby tv contacts when it happens in their hospitals.

But because it's internet times, those local stories can become national by the click of an aggregator or a tweak of an algorithm. And so once a month an Online Person is confronted with this very same story, with the particulars swapped around. Forever.
