There must be ornithologists with calibrated instruments. I swear I heard about this once. It seemed to also involve using Fourier transforms to match bird songs, like Shazam app for birds.

We have a mockingbird who has learned to replicate a car alarm noise, and it's not bringing him any lady birds because lady birds are not car alarms, and I'd love to shazaam him some night.
