So many issues with this starting w the fact that 99.9% of their staff are black and brown folks. I did some reporting fa few years back on this bc I found it unsettling how they seemed to be "cast" and prompted to perform to a primarily white demo of customers.

No. It was for radio, but then I ended up getting into an all-consuming project that became the podcast There Goes the Neighborhood. I've thought about revisiting the story but bandwidth.

Ah, the bandwidth curse! Bummer. Hope you get a chance to look into it more. The performative wokeness of “2.0” brands is pervasive and needs more attention.
