If responsible content producers were in the habit of digitally signing their content and distributing the signature with the content, then ordinary people (and Facebook) could certify its origin.

One of my "friends" on Facebook posted it and another one about how Pelosi spends more on alcohol than food. On both, Facebook posted right under them a message that they were false.
