This is a dinner knife. But the variations in other butter knives have to do with how the butter is being presented. For example, a stick of butter requires one kind of butter knife, while a butter bell crock requires another (like the small curved one you've shown).

It's totally a typical butter knife! My parents have multiple sets of silverware like that (from 1800-1900). Most modern cutlery sets don't understand soup spoons or dessert spoons either (both should be circular, not oval) and it's tragically lost knowledge.

Oh no! If it doesn't curve upward with two prongs at the end (so you can stab and lift) not a cheese knife (unless it's mad of wood).

also being able to identify a butter knife has nothing to do with being able to cook? if anything it's a better signal of being cooked for than cooking

Hilariously, I own two butter knives, one that I inherited from my grandparents and the other of which... came with a cheese serving board I got as a gift. As a Gen X heathen, I have used them both as serving utensils for roasted garlic cloves.

I'm very impressed with that list. My favourite spoon was one I had as a kid. It was a gold plated teaspoon with a perfect miniature claw hammer head at the end of the handle for eating boiled eggs with (to smash then pry the top off with). I still think about that spoon a lot.

Yeah pretty sure it's for sugar but the loose kind, I think would have come with a bowl (have seen a few, I think my mum might still have a set). Jam spoons very similar but not quite the same. You get small silver tongs for cubes :) (she deffo has those)

That is for sugar. The broad edge to the front of the spoon allows you to scrape grains loose from the loaf.
