don't at me with your "but what about ...!" yes of course there are places throughout my home state with news. Robust is not a word I would apply to them.
Here is where I mention (again) that the best (only) person doing reporting in my hometown is a 13-year-old girl, which is not a knock on her because she's great, but, like, everyone's hometown deserves more than one reporter. https://orangestreetnews.com/
It's one thing for a town to have a paper with a single journalist (hey! that is better than nothing) and another to have a paper robust enough to send someone to state leg and do investigative work. Here, we really just have the first option.
right! there's a lot of that first option, and that is indeed better than nothing! But it's also just enough to make you ache for what you could find and do with more resources.
