I think the people wanting to read of bit of fluff about their favorite tv show are not to blame for the economic waste laid to the journalism industry for the last two decades. There are good cup stories. There is bad local journalism.

You know I love stories like this. And clearly they didn't kill local news. But at a certain point, if every outlet does the exact same stories, there's no difference between outlets and no reason to read any particular one. And there's an enormous opportunity cost.

I LIKE to think readers gravitate to the best of them, but I'm not sure readers even think about them half as much as we do. And besides, it's a crazy fancy expensive show that did make a pretty funny gaffe!
