I've a friend who never does up more than 45 min before gate closing. Meanwhile, I had to spend 45 minutes just convincing El Al I wasn't lying about being Jewish last time I went to Israel.
Even just the idea of any delay means I get to the airport hours early. Amtrak? 5 minutes.
