How long does it take to break in a pair of Birkenstocks? Asking for a friend.

Someone suggested wearing them with socks around your apartment for an hour at a time, which, now that we've had a year to think about our differences, I may be willing to try.

I did that yesterday and it did actually help...but then I got ambitious and decided to run a short errand in them without socks and my feet are Blister City :( I’ll have to keep trying the sock thing.
