We have the house refrigerator in the kitchen and the (mostly) soft drink fridge in the garage. I though that was common?

The stereotypical Midwestern family with "the kitchen fridge" and "the garage fridge full of costco overflow and beverages for the kids" would like a word (I doubt both fridges' lightbulbs burn out at the same time, though, so your point ultimately stands)

It's simple: One goes in the fridge and the other goes under your sink or in your junk drawer and then you throw it away when you move.
