point being, even within a single newsroom, you can have smart, well-meaning people disagreeing about what to do about this stuff. Cover it more to swat it down? Ignore it until you can't? Only cover it with Chris Christie mentions it on teevee?

organizations, and the journalists within those organizations, have different places for where they draw the line in responding to, swatting down, fact-checking, ignoring disinformation. Where we are now is that none of them seem to work completely on their own.

annnnyway, in a nation of subreddits, local news stations, satire, facebook, bad actors, new-era Snopes, twitter-threading professors, fact checks, no there will be no one true collaborative source that stops disinfo, political or non. That's unsettling, yes.
