I think about this every time I watch a Friends episode where they fly somewhere--they book their tickets by *calling the airline*

I remember sitting in my apartment in around 1995 and psyching myself up to phone a hotel in Prague (which I had found in a guide book) to try to reserve a room.

Compulsively keeping track of your return flight paper tickets the whole trip because it was the same as money. You lose it and you are screwed!

When I got stuck at the UK border in 2012, they kept asking for my ticket. I gave them my boarding pass stub and they said, "no, your ticket." I looked at them confused and finally, in my best arrogant American, said: It's all electronic in the US.
