This is also how it works for servers or other tipped workers. If someone is getting $2.13 an hour and gets $3 in tips, that's just $3 less that the employer has to pay to bring them up to minimum wage. The worker doesn't get any more.

Yes, I'm referring to workers with low tips. Until the point where the tips bring then up to minimum wage, the tips are going into the employer's pocket and not giving the worker any additional money.

i think we can all agree that what the law requires and what actually happens in restaurants all across the country are two very different things. Neither of which is the situation with these companies.
