I just tried to google the name of the bookstore to start this thread off right, but i can't find it. It was on 12th or so, between Penn Ave and E Street. Halfway between the old Barns and Noble and where Olssons used to be in the place that became a noodle shop.

I used to work at 14th and F, and on occasion hit all three by way of a long meandering stroll home to my apartment on capitol hill. On one visit to this bookstore whose name I can no longer recall, I picked up a book about the lincoln assassination:https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/146263.American_Brutus …

I went full-on history nerd when i lived in DC, and have rarely been so happy.
@buschap and I would eat at Wok n Roll so often that they started preparing our meals before we sat down. (It was formerly the boarding house where Booth stayed.)1 reply 0 retweets 2 likesShow this thread -
Anyway, so i walk into this bookstore, which happened to be two blocks away from Ford's Theatre, and pick up this book on a whim. Walk up the block to a starbucks to start reading.

weird coincidence one: it's April 14. The anniversary of the lincoln assassination. (which, ok, is silly, because that's PROBABLY why the book was on an endcap in the first place, because DC was full of nerdos.)

after an hour or two of reading, it's still early evening, and i start to walk home. Walk a single block and then woah wait

... at which point i'm a block from ford's theater, and it's the anniversary of the lincoln assassination, and of course he'd be there. Also, he's on a cellphone, so he's probably not a ghost.

but for, like 30 seconds there, I was convinced i was seeing a ghost. in front of the t-shirt shop across from ford's theater.
