"I have a couple of hours of work to do. Would it be ok if i sat in a corner with my laptop and used your wifi?" "Are you going to order a drink?" "Yes of course." "Then why would I care?" Ladies and gentlemen, I have found it. The perfect bar.
it's still a novelty in brooklyn, too. Most places frown pretty hard on it, which is why i'm so ecstatic to have found an exception.

I don’t get it, if you are paying. If anything, you will stay longer, drink and eat more, and tip better (if the bartender knows how to play their cards right)

i tend toward usually empty bars that let me overtip in exchange for reading time, but for some reason the laptop crosses a line for even most of them. I kinda get it -- one laptop, then two, then all of a sudden you're a coffee shop.
