Do you know how much I appreciate this. Because sometimes it feels like only outsiders to journalism notice language.
I think most good journalists KNOW but they're also often just leaning back on the easy thing :/

Eh, I'm not so sure they would agree with you this is an issue let alone a problem. Knowing someone might have a critique is different than agreeing the critique is valid.

Let me put it this way: four newsrooms, big and small, and I've only ever heard journalists complain about the lingo words.
