If you spoil without warning you take that decision away from the individual. Some people like it, some dont.
If you expect your life to be spoiler-free, I don't see how you exist on twitter, or in a coffee shop, or at the office water cooler, or online anywhere. It's asking the world to make you angry and let you down.

You can enjoy your escapism! But expecting others to enjoy it the way you do (and getting mad when they don't) isn't going to make anything better. I don't know what happened on that story. Probably the people involved feel bad.
