This is a terrible tragedy and awful end to a brutal year. It is a system failure that resulted in irreversible harm to two families. My heart goes out to the families of the victims. We will hold the man who did this accountable. We will support the families of the victims

It’s not a “system failure.” It’s your failure and a painfully predictable one.

We can have compassion for both the perpetrator and the victims. Give 100% support to the victims' families. And then continue to make the more difficult systemic changes necessary to ensure far fewer people live lives that lead to crime.

I know and have helped people like Troy McAllister. Your statements are cliched and simplistic. You don't even know me. I've advocated on behalf of incarcerated people to provide resources and support. I wish we could all at least change our *own* behaviors and show some empathy.

Since you need evidence: I've visited people in prison, supplied food and books, helped with re-entry plans, communicated with the Public Defender's office to get a case re-opened, and many other things. Questioning what *you're* doing to make change is a better exercise here.

Yes, I have 20 of them now and they each have their own suite. ;) I wish you all the best, someone who spends a lot of time being very angry on Twitter. Whatever happened to *you*, I have great compassion for it. Much peace. Or, stay angry. Whatever suits you best.
