Not really where I had planned to spend my weekend. But here we are. Thank you to for the incredible level of nursing, physiotherapy, surgical, and ICU care being provided to my family member.

"How will we ever know if we have a pandemic of micro-emboli if we don’t look? " An important case study to learn from. #longcovidkids

My dad’s mobile phone message says: “I’m sorry I’m not home at the moment. Please leave a message”. It makes me smile every time.

This is what happens when public health officials play Omicron as "mild" COVID-19. If public health, the press, & the general public acknowledged morbidities from COVID rather than just emphasizing mortality, maybe, just maybe, we wouldn't be in this mess now.

It’s a fallacy that a lack of bulk billing for emergency care is filling our EDs We need to accept that it’s a lack of accessible primary preventative holistic care, ignored for years and neglected in the pandemic, that’s caused an escalation of illness now needed urgent care.

We’re waiting for a new kitchen to be installed and in the meantime my husband has nailed the old kitchen to the balcony as a temporary place to cook and I kind of like it.

Hard to believe that I can be seeing patients in clinic one minute and at home looking out at this view seven minutes later. Rural medicine rocks!

I had a lovely evening in Canberra as the guest speaker at a Travelling Scholar dinner. Until I was waiting for an Uber outside the venue and a car full of drunk men catcalled me and told me to get in their car. A nearly 50 year old Professor wearing a suit. When does this end?

The high locum rates is unsustainable for health system . It heavily encourages episodic casual work so continuity of care suffers .ultimately this will lead to poorer outcomes & more health costs . System needs reform in a big way

I don’t have small children anymore so I can wear a white pantsuit out to dinner. But I still have vivid memories of having small children, so when I wear my white pantsuit I carry a back-up clean dress and some wet-wipes in my handbag. Is this a phase that will pass?
