    .: The Black community wants someone who is truly... authentic. Sometimes people come to the community at the end to get pictures... But getting those last-minute voters to see that they care & want to hear their voice at this point, I think it's very important.

    Happy to announce my Bill (HB 5117) was passed out of the Senate Judiciary Committee today. This is the Bill regarding the Wrongful Imprisonment Compensation Act (WICA), which expands access to justice for those that are wrongfully imprisoned.

    Good win tonight for my JV team (5-2). But we didn't know we had not only the first Black Woman elcected as Mayor in Eastpointe but also the first in Macomb county as well. Mayor Monique Owens was in the crowd cheering us on.
