  1. This is a sad day for Detroit and a sad day for Councilman Spivey and his family. We do have a process in this country where people are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Councilman Spivey is entitled to that presumption until he has his day in court.

  2. Since 2015, more than 2000 affordable rental units in Detroit have been opened or are under construction and another 450 affordable units were awarded last week from . We are making sure no one is pushed out of the city because they can’t afford their rent.

  3. Over the last few years, the average property value in Detroit has doubled. This is great for homeowners since their homes are a source of generational wealth, but for renters this can be worrisome. Whether you own or rent your home, Detroiters deserve to stay in Detroit.

  10. And less than a block away, Clark Park will soon see a $3.3 million improvement including a new playground with accessible features, a multi-sport/fitness area, walkway upgrades and more. The work is to begin in earnest in August, with the makeover wrapping up in summer 2022.

  11. Today, I was proud to celebrate not one, but two great new improvements to this neighborhood. Murray Hill Farms, at 4004 Porter St., is now home to 12 modern, efficient housing units, a quarter of which are offered at just 60% of the area's median income.

  13. We are all deeply grateful to Project EverGreen, the Rocket Community Fund and other partners for making this day possible. Thanks to them, Tony McDuffy Park is a place that will be enjoyed by Detroit children and families for generations to come and Tony's legacy will live on.

  14. McDuffy Park now features a new walkway, playground, picnic tables, grills, bike racks and more - doubling the size of the park to 1.5 acres. New trees will provide needed shade in the heat of summer, and a new open grass area provides plenty of space for kids to play.
