Over the last few years, the average property value in Detroit has doubled. This is great for homeowners since their homes are a source of generational wealth, but for renters this can be worrisome. Whether you own or rent your home, Detroiters deserve to stay in Detroit.

Yesterday, I joined with members of the disabilities community to announce a new initiative to further fulfill the promise of the ADA. In Detroit, we recognize the challenges members of our disabled community face when trying to access information, city services or opportunities.pic.twitter.com/XNfZNQyBDW

Every child deserves a safe and quality place to play. That’s why we have made it a priority to give Detroit’s parks much-needed attention the past six years, and we will continue to do so as we work to strengthen neighborhoods across our city.

Today, I was proud to celebrate not one, but two great new improvements to this neighborhood. Murray Hill Farms, at 4004 Porter St., is now home to 12 modern, efficient housing units, a quarter of which are offered at just 60% of the area's median income.
