Like many of you, I was very troubled to have received that emergency alert this morning. While I am relieved that there was no actual emergency, I am upset that an error such as this occurred. I have spoken to the Province, and am demanding that a full investigation take place.

The same system that sent initial alert should be used for an update cancelling it. Not everyone is on Twitter to know it was a false alarm.

This is ridiculous that it takes 45 minutes to issue that this alert was sent in “error”. How exactly does one issue an emergency alert in error? The protocol for issuing an alert needs to be seriously reviewed.

When are we going to abolish this alert system? It's clearly not working. I've had to downgrade my phone to 3g service to avoid the very rude interruptions.
