This is a good thread to study as a great example of the sort of apologetics of abusive and harassing behavior that perpetuate it in Node.jshttps://twitter.com/jasnell/status/899835312536289280 …

This sort of behavior is *much* more harmful than the rando asshole who starts spewing vitriol about "political correctness".
-
Because by acting like "the reasonable person", they cape for the harassers. They give them just enough safe harbor that their victims leave
-
And by the time the victims leave, well... the harasser is no longer a problem because GASP no one is complaining about them anymore?
-
I have literal receipts that, when I was part of the Inclusivity WG, it was jasnell who put up the most resistance, *BY FAR*.
-
Everything we tried got derailed, or watered down, or challenged, or questioned. We literally couldn't manage any movement but he was "nice"
-
Neutrality is never neutral. Rules/bylaws are not objective. When you make the choice to stan for abusers, you are entirely complicit.
-
tl;dr you never, *EVER* get to hide behind "this is our process" when it comes to things like abuse and harassment. You chose this path.

Seriously? Really? What?

Can you explain,
@jasnell, how this list of things alone does not include CoC violations? You and I also know about private stuff. - 20 more replies
