I am far less interested in a countdown of when Trump might announce whether he will run for president again and far more interested in a countdown for when there will be a reckoning with the violent attempt to overthrow a free and fair election for president.

Just dropped off my daughter at preschool, which is next door to where I went to elementary school, and now sitting here thinking about how inconceivable it is to me that my mom did all of this by herself at the age of 19. One of the most resilient women I know.

I'll say again: none of this extremism will hurt Republicans at the polls if Republicans don't let people vote. It's not an *accident* that SCOTUS gutted the voting rights act BEFORE it gutted Roe v. Wade. That was the necessary order of operations for their plans.

If the Court allows a law that obviously violates the Roe/Casey framework to take effect, the Roe/Casey framework is overruled. Pointing out that no judge literally said so is dead-end formalism that obfuscates the law’s impact on people who aren’t constitutional law professors.

Imagine if California passed a law banning firearms and outsourced enforcement to the public. If you catch a person with a firearm, you sue them and if you win you get 10K. Sure it violates the constitution but *shrug* That's what's happening with abortion in Texas right now.

#SB8 impacts Black and Latinx Texans, and people with limited resources, the most. On average, pregnant Texans will have to travel 248 miles in the midst of a pandemic to get an abortion out of state.

If you're feeling scared and furious about Texas, look to the activists there for what you can do to help. Give to an abortion fund, follow Texas feminists, understand that they know better than anyone what pregnant people in the state need right now
