Trying to remind myself that discourse doesn’t matter but it does. The DNC’s version of 2020 was, as well as an obvious cover for state violence against the poor, a way to translate the rebellion into a liberal idiom that the reactionaries are great at poking holes in

The New School is imposing a requirement that all full-time faculty report on their work, stating that it will cut pay and health benefits for those who don't comply Leaving aside the legality of this unilateral change in our contracts, this is straight up strikebreaking (1/3)

This is a disgusting display of the abuse of identity politics. bell hooks spent almost the entirety of her adult life fighting capitalism & to invoke her work, just months after her death when she can no longer command you to stop, in yr efforts to break this strike, is gross.

Kiro Russo’s new film about La Paz, "El Gran Movimiento," exposes the mine as a veiled foundation of life in this South American metropolis, and in so doing, indicts industry as the core of a rotting global economic system.

"This gurgling enterprise is hidden twice over: First, the work is done underground, and second—like so much labor under late capitalism—it is kept at a remarkable distance from those who own and profit from its production." love this movie & review
