That article is from July. Crime is now up 4.6% according to the SFPD website. It's up even though the city is most likely fudging the numbers to try and salvage tourism in SF.

To admit what those of who live in San Francisco see with our own eyes on a daily basis (crime isn’t down) is to admit that the status quo isn’t working and, since San Francisco progressives are the bulwarks of the status quo, they have no choice but to deflect.
