I often say VR needs to take "baby steps" towards the Holodeck. I'd use "small moves" if everyone loved the movie Contact as much as I do.

The wonderful hosts that bring Dr Crumb to life deserve so much of the credit. The whole idea is that the game is just the bones. The meat of it comes from performers like who engage with the players and invite them to create unique memories together.

I give most credit for “Wolves in the Walls” to who led production on the effort and , , and Ed Saatchi and the rest of the wolves team for their brilliant work to get it over the finish line.

NFTs have felt like hype. In some ways they are, but I was dismissing the power of easily creating monetizeable culture. Giving liquid $ equity to community builders is a network effect I can’t dismiss any longer. By :

We've created a new gig economy platform for Metaverse performers and going all-in as a company is exciting news to small teams like us who believe in this bold future. Thank you for empowering creators to build new ways of connecting us all.

Quest 2 adoption is slowly growing a viable market for game devs. As the hw gets more comfortable and cheaper, VR’s deep content graveyard has a lot of great ideas that were just launched too early and on the wrong hw. They will be dug back up by the next class of hits. 4/4 🚀

And it’s games like Pistol Whip, Pop One, Saints & Sinners, and the RE4 release which can be played on Quest 2 that are showing some real success because they got the timing right! 3/4 👇🏼

Lucky’s Tale, Edge of Nowhere, Chronos, Wilson’s Heart, Lone Echo, Half Life Alyx, Skyrim VR / all are great high end experiences that relatively few played, and are still cumbersome to play today. 2/4👇🏼

Was ’s slow adoption due to not enough content or was the hardware offering not right yet? I take the side that content has been way ahead for a while. So many great (subsidized) projects were only experienced by a small group of early adopters. 1/4👇

Love how and cover XR. They rightly so get excited about the underappreciated fact that Quest 2 is an amazing training device. Accenture bought 60000 Quest 2 units! That's ~18M in hardware alone.

Overjoyed that Quill, returns back to stewardship. We couldn’t have made Dear Angelica at without you convincing us that the only way to make an illustrated story in VR was to invent a new way to illustrate in VR! 🤯

What’s your favorite pithy way to describe the power of VR? Examples: “experience what you can only imagine”, “empathy machine”, “shared memory maker”, “the digital third space”. This talking point is so interesting to track the medium’s evolution.

Beyond the novelty of seeing my hands tracked in VR, I have not found a single case where I would prefer it over more accurately tracked controllers with triggers and buttons I can feel. Give me an example where I’m wrong.

This right here is why VR’s strength as a medium is not about recreating the reality we know, it’s about creating new realities.
