I’ve been working on a room-builder tool for iterative level design. Everything is procedural so I can still make edits to the meshes afterwards. I started out by reading floorplan textures, but slowly converting to in-engine drawing instead 🙂🔨 #gamedev #techart #madewithunity

It could probably be used to bake static skybox textures, but it's pretty fast and runs entirely on the gpu, and doing it in real time allows for a lot of cool looks (billboarding sprites) and really really intense zooms (photography games?)

Been noodling on a tool recently for generating performant 'art direct-able' night skies, something that would could pump out good HDR values but also support a variety of billboarded sprites for more stylised looks. It uses real star data too (check out the Big Dipper!)
