Re: notetaking — I think this is a pain point that generalizes to all kinds of time-based media, beyond audio.

E.g.: taking notes on a Coursera video within a Notion document — once the note-taking process is over, unless you've noted time-stamps, there's no link to the original *specific* snippet of video you're referencing. The ties between the two artifacts are lost.

Reminds me of Medium inline comments vs the overall comments that come after the blog post. With time-based media like video and podcasts, reactions to the whole piece are simple, but reactions to finer-grain snippets are not.

Something I think of are these ethnographic software for taking annotations on video-recordings/GPS Data over time/etc: Boris (http://www.boris.unito.it ), ChronoViz (http://chronoviz.com ), etc.

But these annotations live /within/ the application, and can't really easily be referenced/quoted in another app the same way that you can copy-paste a snippet of text.pic.twitter.com/cukY4F0lA0

@codexeditor I forget, Iiain, have you looked at standoff annotation of rasterized/temporal media?

Hi Max, in Codex you can annotate a range of text to refer to a segment of video or audio recording on YouTube, say. Also interested in using something like
@otter_ai to sync text with speech. You'd also be able to overlay refs to other texts, entities in the DB, etc.0 replies 0 retweets 6 likesThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
